Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup

At start of the 2007 season, Mobil 1 became the title sponsor of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, the world’s fastest and most prestigious one-make championship. We pride ourselves on not just being a supplier but instead as an integral part of the cars. This gives us the unique opportunity to take what we learn and apply it directly to the road.

The Porsche 911 GT3 Cup is a 450 bhp, agile race car closely related to the road version of the Porsche 911. It provides the platform to directly test Mobil 1 products designed for the track and optimise them to work even more effectively on the road. The knowledge and expertise we get from working with the fastest sports cars goes directly into our road products.

Mobil 1 Technology

Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup provides the ideal environment for Mobil 1 engineers to develop advanced engine oils, and those same engineers can take what we learn in motorsport and apply it directly to our line of road products. This means that our expertise on the track feeds directly into our work on the road.

Bruce Crawley Global Motorsport Technology Manager

We develop Mobil 1 racing oil in the same lab as all our commercial products and people move between the two programs. There have been ingredients that we tried first in racing and then later added to commercial Mobil 1. Motorsport pushes the boundaries of our technology.

Race Team

It is extremely important for the teams in Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup to have consistent quality and a high level of reliability for all the components on the race car. The Porsche Supercup is raced in all weather conditions around the world. It can be extremely hot in the Middle East or it can be extremely cold at the Nurburgring in Germany, and Mobil 1 always provides reliability and the best performance for all the race cars on the grid. Aside from the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup there are another 20 race series around the world, from New Zealand, Australia, Japan and China over to Brazil, the United States and many more in Europe, and they all use Mobil 1.
